The Clinical Manager will represent the Home Health and Hospice departments at key hospital committees as assigned. The HomeLink Clinical Manager is actively involved in hiring, counseling and disciplining staff and will perform staff evaluations as assigned. As a member of the HomeLink Administrative Team, the Clinical Manager will share after hours and week-end on-call coverage and will cover the Referral Coordinator's job duties in his/her absence. Direct supervision of the HomeLink Clinical Manager is provided by the Director of Community Services and Respiratory Therapy. The HomeLink Clinical Manager is a member of the Leadership Team and the Nursing Leadership Team and has full access to all meetings, forums and education/development activities as specified by the Director. Ambulatory Surgery Center Manager:   The Ambulatory Surgery Center Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of surgical services of that center which includes OR, SPU/PACU, endoscopy and pain clinic. The Coordinator reports to the Regional Director of Surgical Services. The Coordinator manages personnel, provides safe and cost-effective care, ensures a safe environment and supports an efficient and cooperative interdepartmental workflow in the ambulatory surgery center. The Manager will assume specific project accountabilities as delegated by the Regional Director of Surgical Services.  Essential Functions: ~ Effective management of unit operations: Manages within budget authority and maintains ongoing process of identifying, evaluating and implementing cost structure improvements to develop a basis for assessing overall cost effectiveness in units. Undertakes appropriate planning of same regarding effective deployment of resource allocations, staffing/acuity system through continuous evaluation, revision and communication (written and verbal) of unit staff matrix and resources. Maintains effective collaborative physician/colleague relationships to achieve financial targets. Measured by: Unit Costs Actual to Forecast +/- 1% variance at year end. ~ Interviews and hires staff for the operating room. ~ Provides leadership and direction in support of the organization and department goals and objectives and the Regional Director of Surgical Services on the front line. ~ Conducts performance appraisals. Counsels employees and acts on disciplinary problems. ~ Develops and maintains staffing patterns for the units. ~ Coordinates and chairs staff meetings with the Regional Director of Surgical Services. ~ Monitors compliance of staff with employee's requirements. ~ Develops and updates policies, procedures and standards of care for the units and monitors compliance with those standards. ~ Supervises and assists in the delivery of patient care. ~ Develops and achieves departmental goals and objectives in support of Surgical Services. ~ Coordinates inter-departmental and intra-departmental problem resolution. ~ Serves as a resource to other departments in area of specialty. ~ Develops orientation plans for new hires to ASC. ~ Coordinates in-service for all surgical services. ~ Mentors preceptors in ASC. ~ Develops work plans as necessary. ~ Provides training/in-service on all new equipment or new procedures for surgical services. ~ Plans annually competencies for ASC and coordinates annual competencies for all areas of responsibility. <description><![CDATA[Clinical Supervisor - Surgery and Procedural Admit Unit   This is a regular, exempt, 8 hour, day shift position, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week. Responsibilities   The supervisor is accountable for the overall clinical and operational activities of this department within surgical services.  The supervisor is responsible for this in accordance with xxxxxx mission, vision and values.   Under the guidance of the Manager, the Clinical Supervisor is accountable for the following: management of clinical and operational activities of the SPAU Department; establishing and enforcing standards and nursing practice pertaining to the admission and discharge (Phase II and III) of the surgical and procedural patients for the xxxxl campus; and providing direct patient care when needed.   Actively participates in staff development including development and maintenance of competencies, participation in the orientation process and involvement in the educational process.  Qualifications  Nursing Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing required.  Meets the criteria of Registered Nurse.  Internal applicants without BSN may be considered at the discretion of the Manager/Director.  The internal applicant must begin actively pursuing and must attain a BSN within three years of taking position.   Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.  Current BLS Certification.   Must have three-five years of current surgical admission/discharge experience with demonstrated clinical knowledge and leadership qualities. Charge Nurse Experience required and supervisory experience preferred. Ability to set priorities and demonstrate time management skills.    Must demonstrate clinical and organizational skills related to the care of pre and post surgical and procedural patients. Must have knowledge of human growth and development to modify services to the age and development state of the patient. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively. Is able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clinical staff, physicians, managers and directors. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English.  Excellent customer service skills are essential.  Ability to implement operational changes to meet budget targets. Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements and regulations regarding hospitals and patient care.   Computer literacy - Ability to use hospital information systems, Word/Excel, and email.  Meet criteria of their respective professional category.  Must demonstrate advanced clinical and organizational skills related to the care of patients within this specialty. Ability to plan and modify clinical approaches.    Demonstrated knowledge, skill and experience in working collaboratively within a team and team building, problem solving, leadership, conflict resolution and excellent interpersonal communication are required. Ability to address issues in tactful ways.  Ability to communicate in ways that are broadly understood and create a harmonious working environment by building relationships between team members and multiple departments. Demonstrates dedication to strong customer service with knowledge that 'customers' exist in multiple arenas.   Ability to provide direct patient care is required. Able to discern departmental needs in managing daily workload and staffing within budget and standard of care.]]></description>
